Halloween is around the corner, bringing candy, chocolate, and treats that might sneak into a home near you. To keep your puppy safe this spooky season, ensure they steer clear of foods that aren't puppy-friendly.
Be cautious of common holiday foods that can be harmful to dogs. Everyday items to avoid include chocolate, almonds, cinnamon, garlic, onions, macadamia nuts, xylitol, grapes, raisins, fat trimmings, bones (especially cooked), foods with pits or large seeds (like peaches and avocados), yeast dough and salty snacks.
As the celebrations unfold, be vigilant about keeping candy wrappers and trash securely covered. Clean up any dropped candy right away, and avoid leaving treats on counters where curious pups might be tempted. For extra safety, store them out of reach, such as in a pantry behind a closed door. Happy (and safe) Halloween!
